Vancouver - Yaletown

Our October visit to Kitsilano, included a walk to Granville Island Market. This stroll provided Murray and me an opportunity to snap some urban pictures. Here, from Granville Island, we look over False Creek to Yaletown.

Telegraph Cove boardwalk

After spending a few days in Sointula, our drive home took us past the Telegraph Cove turn-off. Why not have a look we thought. It was a good thought. Although it was February and the Cove was all but deserted, the visit was worth it. I hadn't known exactly what to expect, but the boardwalk was very interesting. The history of the place is well documented on numerous signposts.

After some beach time (why wouldn't we when in the Long Beach area) we looked in on the Tofino Botanical Gardens.

Nanaimo - Oyster Catcher in Departure Bay

Kilroy was here! Black Oyster Catcher in Departure Bay. When kayaking around Nanaimo, you're likely to hear the Oyster Catchers before you ever see them. When you hear them, be sure to look about for their characteristic orange beaks and the red-yellow eyes.

It may be November, but the sun flushes Vancouverites outdoors. An ideal spot to soak up some rays is out on the dock at Granville Island.
